The acronym of BRIDGES means BRain Injury Demands Guidance Education and Support.

BRIDGES was incorporated in May 2008 as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and has a Board of Directors to oversee its operation.

BRIDGES partners with organizations, such as Brain Injury Alliance of Kentucky (BIAK) and National Association for Mental Illness (NAMI) to raise brain injury awareness and expand our support and educational resources.

Yellow DOT Program

Kentucky's Yellow Dot program is designed to improve emergency care to motorists involved in a crash by providing a "dot" -- a circular yellow sticker placed on the lower left corner of the driver's side rear window -- to alert emergency crews that a pamphlet with the motorist's identification and medical information is in the glove box. The pamphlet includes the motorist's name, photo, medical conditions, recent surgeries, current medications, allergies, physical information and emergency contact information.
